If you’re a single woman planning a trip on your lonesome this year, fear not! While finding somewhere that’s safe and exciting might seem to narrow your choices a bit, you can rest assured that there are still some incredible places you can visit for your vacation, whether you’re going in Summer or Winter.
Today, we’ve put together a list of the best travel locations for single women, so you can start booking your flights and hotel right away! Otherwise, these will hopefully serve as a source of inspiration for when you finally decide where you’re going to go.
Japan
While it’s far from the most-affordable place to visit, especially if you’re going to Tokyo, Japan has one of the first-world’s lowest crime rates. In fact, the most trouble you’re likely to run into during your trip will be caused by natural hazards such as earthquakes and typhoons, not your fellow human being! And, depending on when you decide to go, there’s a good chance you can avoid having to suffer through them altogether.
Whether you’re taking in the endless gauzy neon of Tokyo, browsing the stores in the world-famous Shinjuku and Akihabara districts, or checking out other amazing—and arguably more traditional—regions in the country like Osaka or Kyushu, it’s fair to say that you’ll never be short of things to do during a visit to the land of the rising sun!
Iceland
A destination which you may find easier to get to, and which shares the same welcoming attitude to tourists as Japan, is Iceland. While that might surprise you, lots of women visit this breathtaking Nordic island country, and it has enough nightlife and history to keep you entertained whether you’re going there to let your hair down or to catch a glimpse of some of its incredible natural sights.
You can hike a glacier, have a bath at the Blue Lagoon, check out its variety of monolithic waterfalls, geysers, and canyons, or have an amazing city experience thanks to the surprisingly good restaurants, bars and music scene found in the capital, Rejkjavik!
Canada
Canadians are well-known for being one of the most friendly nationalities in the world. In fact, their society is a shining example of multiculturalism, low-crime rates, and incredibly forward-thinking initiatives.
What’s more exciting for those of you looking to travel there alone though is the range of activities to enjoy once you get there; you can take in some of the majestic natural sights the country has to offer, from the infinitely beautiful Rocky Mountains and Lake Ontariom to the exciting nightlife and shopping found in Montreal and Calgary. We promise you’ll never run out of things to do when you’re there!
Scotland
Scotland is one of those places many people talk about, but few know the true beauty of. Much like its Celtic neighbor, Ireland, Scotland has an incredible wealth of things to see and do during a visit, and is also incredibly safe. You can enjoy the incredible natural rock formations at Skye, go shopping in the high streets of Edinburgh, or visit historical monuments in Glasgow; whatever you’re doing, you’ll have memories to last a lifetime.
